Forum: GratefulDead Subject: who's going to which New Years' shows?

I have no idea what's going on in most of the land but I know Jackie Green is playing in the Bay Area tonight as well as Further who is also there tomorrow night.

If I have heard correctly Phish is playing tomorrow in Southern Florida?

Are any of you going to shows these or other shows this New Years? Which ones and where?

Personally, since I moved abroad, New Years Eve is the most depressing evening of the year. Before the GD I saw smaller local club gigs on NYE and then I had 7 GD NYE's before I left the scene. Now I just sit around with the family and eat and hope for a NFL game. Damn - none this year.

Anyways, I wish you all a wonderful New Year, where ever you may be, and any of you lucky ones at a concert - please have a dance or two for me!

I miss the music, the friends and the whole scene!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! The Music Never Stopped !!

All I have to do is walk over to my neighbors house with the wife and kids and see how long we last.

Love the Honeymooners Marathon suggestion Wharfrat!!

Before we have to leave for the pig roast I think I'll take some time for the Stooges marathon on AMC. Somehow they remind me of this place. I nominate myself for Curly. Tell is Larry, L.Bow is Shemp and Rob is Moe.

It is going to be back and forth between Stooges & Honeymooners at my house - the kids (and myself) love both!

Well Happy New Year! We already have 2 am January 1st and it's time for bed.

We had a nice dinner with some friends and their daughter - drank some wine, whiskey and champagne and also watched some old b/w films. Fireworks at midnight (tradition in Germany) and then the kids begged to see me dancing at midnight at the NYE 87 Dead show. So we put on the Ticket to New Year DVD where everyone had a good laugh seeing a tiny me bopping around during Hell in a Bucket 23 years ago. I don't even like that song but sure seemed to have had some fun.

Anyways, have a great evening everyone where ever you are!

Dear Rastamon,

If it didn't include a + $ 600 airfare I would be there in a flash!

I am making plans with my best old deadhead buddies to meet at a New Years show between in 2010 or 2012. Just a matter of money!

Our alternative plan is to meet in SF on one of our 50th birthdays - that would be between 3 and 5 years and I really don't want to wait that long!

Jess, I'm hoping to go see a Yes cover band on NYE.
Wonderous Stories is playing a little out east from here.
BUT, I'll probably end up staying home and watching the Honey-
Mooners marathon :)

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!
I hope everyone enjoys whatever festivities they have planned for the evening... Be Careful out there!!

No shows for me this year.... The kids are away at their Aunt's house, so it will be a nice quiet dinner and evening with just the wife and myself. We're not big NYE folks anymore, so it will probably just be dinner and a movie and maybe watch the ball drop. I'll be slipping a little of the stooges marathon in there as well, when she isn't looking...nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!!

All best wishes for a safe, happy, healthy and peaceful new year to all my friends and cohorts here at the forum!!

No concerts for me. Just a pig-roast in the Sonoran Desert under, hopefully, clear Arizona skies.

Hmmmm, I may just pass on this Antelope Jackrabbit, and mosey on over to the compound tomorrow night...

Leave the light on; no, not the spotlight.

I can only shut down the electrified fence for about 5 minutes. Let me know when you're going to show up and I'll see what I can do. Oh, I'll also be e-mailing you a copy of the map showing a safe path through the mine field. Not sure if I can drain the moat in time, but I'm sure you're a good swimmer. Don't forget to wear your "Croc-Be-Gone".

Believe me - when the time comes I can make it over any electric fence, through any mountain, moat, tunnel or other obstacle - the only obstacle is airfare!

I don't need any Croc-whatevers - the kids have them on to wish me luck!

I'll beem you when the time is near!
